A red carpet event with a difference, this time all eyes were on the dogs as opposed to the celebrities. Battersea Dog & Cats Home as we all know is a well-known charity, relying on donations alone and last night Battersea held its annual Coats and Collars Ball to help raise money.
The red carpet was over run with couture suited canines recruited from the nearby Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. 17 of the world’s top designers including Vivienne Westwood, Julien MacDonald, Matthew Williamson, Jenny Packham just to mention a few. These designers came together to design one off collars and coats which are all to be auctioned to help raise money for the charity, but not before the one off designs were ‘dog walked’ down the catwalk by the dogs of Battersea’s fundraiser event.
Royvon’s MD Darren James being Julien MacDonald’s old school best friend, had the pleasure of attending this glamorous event for this important cause as Julien’s guest. Royvon would like to extend a special thanks to Julien, allowing Royvon to be involved in such an incredible cause and donate to Battersea. Darren James eagerly bid to win the cover of Dog’s Today magazine, with the intention of giving one of Royvon’s lucky customers the chance to have their dog’s photo on the cover, should we have won. However Darren was outbid, never the less all the money went to a good cause.
The event raised over £100,000 for Battersea, with celebrity dog lovers in attendance raising the profile of Battersea event, the show was hosted by Amanda Holden, guest stars which included Hilary Alexander fashion journalist also an ambassador for the event.
A fantastic night at the fundraiser event was had by all in attendance and the dogs which modelled the designs!
